fuels , and governor components,
plus their function .

Shop
Cleanliness
The shop has changed and this is how it will look in the future. We in
the LBCC Diesel department want to instill in our students a sense of pride
and craftsmanship. These qualities
are born in a professional environment. These
are some simple was to keep it like it is.
Rules
for all people using the shop.
1:
All oils will be dumped immediately after they are drained.
2:
All spilt oil will be cleaned immediately after it is spilt.
3:
Any and all trash will be put in the proper container.
4:
If you put down grease sweep than pick it up.
5:
Clean and put your tools away at the end of the day. Makes a good habit in the
work place.
6:
Put all tool room tools away at the end of the day. (jacks, jack stands, big
sockets. )
7:
Put any precision tools away as soon as you are done with them.
8:
Each person is responsible to keep his own work area clean.
Attendance:
~ You
must show up each day to earn a grade for that day.
Daily grades will affect your
final grade.
Safe operation of vehicles and school equipment:
~ All vehicles and equipment will be driven in a slow, safe
manner in and around the shop.
~ I have zero tolerance for
unsafe actions or careless behavior.
~ Because these actions can quickly lead to death or injury in a shop
setting, I will enforce a stop and
go home policy. Simply
stated, in that situation the student will be asked to stop, cleanup
their tools and leave
the shop, forfeiting the days
grade.
Frustration
and Anger Management:
It is only natural to become frustrated or angry when the project you are
working on does not
cooperate
. It is also natural to want to
express these frustrations. The
problem with anger and
frustration
is that can lead to unsafe work habits. It
has been my experience that when I get in to these
situations
it is best to stop and rethink what I
am doing. In more extreme cases I
will walk away for a moment and clear my mind.
Above all be professional.
Under
the influence.
Due to the inherent danger of the shop areas, any student suspected being
under the influence of intoxicants will
be asked to leave the shop area.
Sexual
Harassment
Is
not tolerated in any form on this campus or in my classes.
Please
do not bring pornographic material to class or keep it in you tool box.
Watch
you communication in or out of class. People may over hear something and be
offended.
